Health Professionals

Health Professionals

Health Professionals are our frontline responders in the battle against Non-Communicable Diseases. Doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, food safety inspectors, public health practitioners and dietitians – we all need to work together to help promote healthy Pacific lifestyles.

Many Pacific Islands are facing major staffing shortages with less than one nurse per 1000 people, and 1 dietitian per 20,000 people, many with no employees in public health nutrition. This means we need to maximise our impact with minimal staff. Using an evidence based ‘best buys’ approach can help us create programs and interventions that align to a common goal, boost funding feasibility and achieve real results for the health of our islands.
