Though as we turn away from these traditional foods in favour of convenient, plastic-packaged foods full of unhealthy fats, sugar and salt our health is paying a heavy price. While 50 years ago lifestyle diseases were a mere blip on the radar, we are now faced with a tsunami of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and heart disease threatening our culture, livelihoods and family. The good news is lifestyle diseases have lifestyle solutions! With a dash of motivation we can use our fertile soils, bountiful seas and gifted bodies to turn the tide and regain our health.
